ISKCON & Vaishnavism
A journey into the timeless philosophy of devotion, love, and the path of Krishna Consciousness.
What is ISKCON ?
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna Movement, was founded in 1966 by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
ISKCON’s mission is to share the timeless teachings of Bhagavad Gita and help people progress on the path of Bhakti-yoga, the yoga of devotion.
“Wherever Krishna’s name is chanted with love, that place becomes a temple — this is the spirit of ISKCON.”
The purpose of ISKCON is to:
Spread the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam
Promote chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra
Inspire people to live a lifestyle of devotion, compassion, and purity
Preserve and share Vedic culture and wisdom
Create a global spiritual community based on service and love
Today, ISKCON has a presence in 100+ countries, with temples, farms, schools, yoga centers, and humanitarian projects that uplift millions of lives.
What is Vaishnavism?
The Path of Devotion (Bhakti)
Vaishnavism is one of the oldest and most profound spiritual traditions within Hinduism.
It is centered on the worship of Lord Vishnu and His divine incarnations, especially Lord Krishna and Lord Rama.
At its heart, Vaishnavism teaches that:
Devotion (Bhakti) is the most beautiful and accessible path to God.
God is personal, loving, and approachable, and relates to His devotees with compassion.
Chanting the holy names purifies the heart and awakens spiritual consciousness.
Service to all beings is service to Krishna, who resides in every heart.
Vaishnavism emphasizes Bhakti-yoga — the yoga of love, surrender, and divine connection — guiding the soul toward a life of peace, purity, and devotion to the Supreme Lord.
